Following the announcement of King Charles' cancer diagnosis, Meghan Markle's brother, Thomas Markle Jr., left a message for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Speaking with GB News, Thomas Jr. warned the couple that now is "not the right time" for his sister to return to the royal family and the U.K. because of the "damage and hurt done" to both families.

He claimed it was not right to use King Charles' "medical emergency as the basis" for any royal family reconciliation.

"When it comes to a health issue especially, everything needs to be set aside, and it should be dealt with first. I don't think it's the right circumstance. Rifts have to be healed, sorted out, in a certain manner," he told host Patrick Christys when asked if it was the right time for the royals' healing.

"It's going to take a lot of time to repair your reputation and your relationship based on the damage and the hurt that's been done. But I don't think a medical emergency should be the basis for the mending of a relationship that's bad."

Meanwhile, Meghan's estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., sent King Charles "all the good wishes in the world" after the Palace announced the monarch's cancer diagnosis.

"I want to send my best wishes to King Charles and hope he gets well very soon. I wish him all the good wishes in the world," Thomas Sr. said, per the Daily Mail.

On Monday, the Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III was diagnosed with a form of cancer is currently undergoing treatment.

In related news, Prince Harry flew from Los Angeles to his home country alone to come and see his father after Buckingham Palace announced his condition.

He traveled without Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and arrived in London on Tuesday.

The royal rift between Prince William and Prince Harry reportedly started in November 2018 when the Duke of Sussex told his brother that he wasn't doing enough to include his wife Meghan in the royal family, per Cosmopolitan.

Meanwhile, in an interview with "Good Morning America" in January 2023 about his memoir "Spare," Prince Harry opened up about his rift with the royal family and his hope for a reconciliation.

"If we can get to the point of reconciliation, that will have a ripple effect across the world. I genuinely believe that, and that's kind of what is pushing me. And if that doesn't happen, then that's very sad," Prince Harry said.

The younger brother of Prince William also said he needed to tell his story to make peace.

"I don't think that we can ever have peace with my family unless the truth is out there. There's a lot that I can forgive, but there needs to be conversations for reconciliation, and part of that has to be accountability," the Duke of Sussex explained.
