Vince Vaughn and his wife Kyla welcomed their second child, son Vernon Lindsay Vaughn, on Wednesday, Aug. 7, PEOPLE reported.

Named after Vaughn’s father, Vernon weighed in at 8 lbs., 4 oz. and measured 21 inches long.

Vaughn announced in April that he and Kyla were expecting a little sibling for their 2½-year-old daughter Locklyn Kyla.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actor pauses to take a quick sip of his drink before sharing the big news: he and his wife Kyla will welcome their second child together this summer.

"This is the first time I've said anything," Vaughn, 43, reveals during the interview, airing Monday. "We're very excited ... [She's due] August 5th."

The couple tied the knot in January 2010. The Internship star and his real estate agent wife welcomed daughter Locklyn Kyla the following December.

“It gives you a different purpose,” Vaughn said shortly after becoming a father to his now 2-year-old little girl. “I feel so grateful.”

“I’ll tell you … When Kyla and I had the first pediatrician appointment, we gotta get the car seat and put it in the back of the car. Kyla buckled up and I got in the car. And I was like, ‘We’re a family.’ We’re going to an appointment as a family. It’s just a great feeling," he said.
