King Charles 'Desperately Wants To Reconcile' With Prince Harry, Meghan Markle For Grandkids: Royal Expert
King Charles wants to rebuild his relationship with his youngest son, Prince Harry, and daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, following his cancer diagnosis.
Katie Nicholl, royal correspondent, author and broadcaster, spoke about Prince Harry's relationship with the royal family amid the reported feud. According to the Vanity Fair royal editor, His Majesty wants to settle the issues with the Duke of Sussex.
Nicholl claimed that the King "desperately wants to reconcile with Harry," so he could have a relationship with his grandchildren -- Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2. She also noted that His Majesty wants to mend his relationship with his daughter-in-law.
"He wants to repair that relationship and indeed have a relationship with his daughter-in-law and grandchildren," the royal expert told Entertainment Tonight.
"I think when someone has a serious health scare like this, it does make you reassess things, and I think that's why Harry got on the first flight he could."
According to Nicholl, the monarch personally called Prince Harry to inform him about his diagnosis, and the latter "jumped on the overnight flight from Los Angeles." Prince William's brother went straight to Clarence House to meet his father, and they had a brief meeting. However, Prince Harry reportedly didn't see his big brother.
"The king would have been hugely relieved and comforted by the fact that Harry flew over," she continued. "But however brief that meeting may have been, I think it's absolutely fundamental and important and healing the rift between father and son."
Meanwhile, Angela Levin, royal biographer, commentator and British broadcaster, claimed that Prince Harry would be torn between his father and his wife because Markle allegedly didn't want him to reconcile with his dad.
"He's very determined, and he has to please Meghan. It will be very difficult [for] him between choosing whether he does what Meghan tells him to do and what he wants to do about his father," Prince Harry's biographer claimed. "He was very, very close to his father when he was younger, far closer to William, who is now very close to his father."
Levin continued, "If he does actually become very close to his father, I don't think she will be pleased whatsoever, and he's got this rock that he's in, that whether he upsets Meghan or he upsets his father.
