Prince William is allegedly not willing to welcome back Prince Harry into the royal fold, according to a report.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States because they wanted to be financially independent of the royals. However, some reports claimed Prince Harry was willing to return to his royal duties amid King Charles' cancer diagnosis. But not every royal was open to that possibility, especially his big brother, Prince William.

An unnamed source spoke with Mirror about the issue and said there was "no chance" the Prince of Wales would welcome back his younger sibling into serving the institution.

"Whatever has been discussed between William and the King is private, but it is absolutely and categorically clear that he (William) would not allow Harry to return. He thought it was a bad idea at the time, and he's even more clear now," a source with knowledge of the matter said.

"If anyone is going to take on more duties, it will be William, and that isn't even on the agenda for now. His main focus is on his father's health, his family and what is best for the monarchy. There is a zero percent chance Harry is coming back in any capacity."

Another report from the Telegraph discussed the same claim. Based on the alleged terms and conditions of the Sussexes' exit, there was no "half in, half out" option, and this reportedly didn't change despite the King's condition.

"There is no way back for the Duke of Sussex to take a temporary working role in the royal family while his father is ill...after reports he is willing to step in," the report indicated.

Prince Harry signaled a willingness to return to his royal duties after his brief visit to King Charles when he was told about the monarch's health condition, per the Times of London. Another insider told the Mirror that Meghan Markle's husband was willing to support the British monarchy.

"Harry is ready and willing to help and genuinely believes it would work well for both parties. In his view, it wouldn't be dissimilar from what was proposed back in 2020, with a hybrid model of working. With the King's illness, there is perhaps more of a reason for those options to be considered," a source close to Prince Harry told the Mirror.

King Charles' two sons had a falling out after Prince Harry left his royal duties because the heir apparent reportedly expected his brother to be there for him until he reigns. But the Duke of Sussex did not just leave the royal family, he also spoke against them in his previous interviews and memoir "Spare."

Prince Harry sparked racist allegations against this family during his and Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey, detailed a physical brawl against Prince William in his book and called King Charles a "cold" father.

However, he expressed love for the royal family after his brief visit to the U.K. earlier this month.

"I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him -- I'm grateful for that," Prince Harry told Will Reeve in an interview for "Good Morning America" last week for the 2025 Invictus Games.
