Donald Trump has bragged about his limited-edition self-branded sneakers selling out quickly, claiming that the last pair sold for nearly half a million dollars.

The former president opened up about the popularity of the shiny gold "Never Surrender High-Top Sneaker" during an interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box" Monday.

While discussing his views on Bitcoin, Trump said that some fans used the cryptocurrency to purchase the sneakers, which were sold for $399 per pair.

"The last pair sold for $450,000," Trump claimed of the sneakers. "People were going crazy for these sneakers... Everybody was -- every friend I have was calling me for a pair of sneakers. So it just took off."

"They were, you know, nice, cute. And we thought it was just a very small thing. It was a branding thing and it was, had a good time with it," Trump said.

Enstarz could not independently verify Trump's claims regarding the selling price of the last pair of his sneakers.

Trump unveiled the gold high tops, which featured an American flag detail, during Sneaker Con at the Philadelphia Convention Center last month.

"This is something I've been talking about for 12 years, 13 years, and I think it's going to be a big success," Trump told attendees as he showed off the shoes at the time, according to CNN.

Just hours after the launch, all 1,000 pairs of the $399 sneakers sold out in presale on the GetTrumpSneakers.com website.

Each pair of the high-tops is numbered, and "at least 10" are autographed by Trump at random, according to the website.

The Trump Sneakers line also included two other offerings: white and red laceless athletic shoes.

The athletic shoes, which feature a "T" and the number 45 on the sides, are priced at $199 and are still available on the site.

A Victory47 cologne and perfume are also for sale on the website at $99 each.

According to the site, it has no connection to Trump's presidential campaign or the Trump Organization.

The sneaker line and other merchandise use Trump's name, image, and likeness under a paid license from CIC Ventures, the website said.

Trump also previously licensed his name, image, and likeness to sell digital NFT trading cards for $99 a pop.

The digital cartoon trading cards, which he debuted in 2022, depicted the former president as a "Superman"-like superhero, a boxer, an astronaut, a sheriff, and a hunter, according to Variety.

"These limited edition cards feature amazing ART of my Life & Career!" Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time. "Collect all of your favorite Trump Digital Trading Cards, very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting."

The cards sold out within a day, raking in nearly $4.4 million, Forbes reported, citing CollectTrumpCards.com.

According to the publication, Trump released a second batch of digital playing cards last year, and he claimed that it also sold out not long after launch.
