Prince Harry allegedly found out about his sister-in-law Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis at the same time the world did, according to a report.

The Times U.K. reported, citing unnamed sources, that the Duke of Sussex is thought to have learned about Middleton's condition from television. Enstarz could not independently verify this information.

According to the outlet, it is understood Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, were not informed by the royal family or Buckingham Palace of Middleton's diagnosis before the Princess of Wales made the shocking revelation in a video released via social media Friday.

The New York Post reported similar information Friday, citing an unnamed insider as saying that the Sussexes were allegedly blindsided by the news.

"They had no idea and only learned of the news around the same time the rest of the world found out," the source claimed.

Prince Harry once had a close bond with his sister-in-law, but he reportedly has been estranged from both Middleton and Prince William since he and Markle stepped back from royal duties and moved to California in 2020.

The insider suggested that the lack of warning was proof that the "damage" Prince Harry and Markle caused in their relationship with the royal family was "irreparable."

"The trust has been broken, and the royal family is OK distancing themselves from them," the source claimed to the Post.

Shortly after Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement wishing her "health and healing" as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy.

"We wish health and healing for Kate and the family and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace," the couple said.

In addition to publicly addressing her health struggles, Prince Harry and Markle privately reached out to Middleton and Prince William to express their support, People reported.

In her video message, Middleton revealed that her condition was initially believed to be noncancerous when she underwent planned abdominal surgery in mid-January.

However, she said tests later found cancer, which Middleton admitted "came as a huge shock."

Following the advice of her doctors, Middleton said she is now in the early stages of undergoing "a course of preventative chemotherapy."

The Princess of Wales also said she and Prince William have been doing their best to "process and manage this privately" for the sake of their children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

Middleton concluded her message by saying she is focusing on "making a full recovery" but is looking forward to returning to public duties "when I am able."

Princess Kate shared her diagnosis following weeks of intense speculation over her health and whereabouts.

It also came nearly two months after her father-in-law, King Charles III, announced his own cancer diagnosis in early February.

The monarch's cancer was caught after he underwent a procedure to treat an enlarged prostate in late January.

King Charles' treatment is also underway.

People earlier reported that the King allegedly told both Prince William and Prince Harry about his condition before Buckingham Palace shared the news with the public.

After the announcement, Prince Harry met with his father during a brief trip to London.
