Shannen Doherty is letting go of her possessions and focusing on the things that bring her "great joy" amid her battle with stage 4 breast cancer.

The "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress revealed on Monday's episode of her podcast "Let's Be Clear" that she has been downsizing and clearing out her storage units and homes "just in case" anything happened to her.

Doherty, 52, explained that her "priority" now is her mother, and she wants to make the transition "easier" for Rosa when she dies.

"I know it's going to be hard on her if I pass away before her," Doherty said of her mom Rosa.

The actress added, "Because it's going to be so hard on her, I want other things to be a lot easier. I don't want her to have a bunch of stuff to deal with. I don't want her to have four storage units filled with furniture."

Doherty, whose cancer has spread to her bones, said she had collected a lot of furniture over the years as she loved going antique shopping.

But the "Charmed" star said she realized she needed to let go of them because they don't bring her "any great joy," and she would rather sell them and other possessions and use the money to make more memories with her mom and other loved ones.

According to the actress, what would make her happy at the moment is to take her mom to "the places that she's always wanted to go to."

"I get to take my mom on vacations because I have all this extra play money lying around and I'm not digging into the money that's in my estate that's going to make sure that everybody in my life is taken care of once I'm dead," Doherty explained.

In addition to selling her furniture collection, Doherty gave up her dream of renovating her Tennessee property, building homes there for her and her mother, and expanding the barn to foster aging and abandoned horses.

Recalling her recent experience packing up her belongings there, the "Heathers" star shared, "It was really hard and really emotional because to a certain extent -- I felt like I was giving up on this dream."

Doherty revealed that she broke down in tears while gathering up her possessions in her Tennessee home to bring back to California and asked herself, "Did it mean that I was giving up on life? Did it mean that I was throwing in the towel?"

"And my mom was there and she was like, 'Don't get rid of this place, it's fine. You don't have to and you can keep going.' I said, 'Yeah, absolutely I can,'" she shared on her podcast.

According to Doherty, it was while she was cleaning out her property that she realized her dream was a "stupid idea" at this point due to how much money it would take to make it happen.

The actress decided that letting go of her dream and her belongings would not only bring her "peace" but also "leave behind a cleaner, easier transition" for her family.

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and had been receiving treatment since then.

She underwent surgery and radiation on her brain in January 2023 -- the same month she separated from her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko, after 11 years of marriage.

Doherty told People in November last year that her stage 4 breast cancer had spread to her bones but that she was "not done with living."

Earlier this year, the actress said on her podcast that she was hopeful that future advancements in cancer research would give her enough years to live to see a cure.

Meanwhile, Doherty was among the many celebrities who reacted to Kate Middleton's announcement last month that she was diagnosed with cancer and undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

In an Instagram post, the actress praised the Princess of Wales for her "strength" amid the "endless onslaught" she'd been under while processing the news of her diagnosis.

Doherty also had a message for those who fueled the speculations surrounding Middleton prior to her announcement, writing: "Being a public figure does not mean the public owns that person. We ALL have the right to go [through] illness or life privately."
