YouTuber Jacksepticeye addressed questions about his retirement in a new video upload.

Last weekend, the online video creator uploaded a vlog titled "Am I retiring from YouTube?" with the caption, "A lot of people have been wondering if Jacksepticeye is retiring from YouTube. Well, I have the answer... [because] I'm him."

The 34-year-old Irish YouTuber opened his vlog by clearing the air on his previous tweet about MatPat's retirement, which stated, "MatPat's video made me realize that I've also been doing YouTube for a literal third of my life."

"I realized that YouTube was a third of my life, and that kind of like freaked me out. But I tweeted that kind of knowing that people are going to get weird about it. I poked the nest purposefully," he explained.

"But just to allay any fears, no, I'm not retiring from YouTube... at least not yet."

While he is not retiring yet, he expressed that he would be stepping away from his channel and his over 30.6 million subscribers one day.

"I do intend on retiring at some point, but not right now," he said.

He then went on to confess that he had thought about retiring in January when his fellow creators MatPat and Tom Scott's videos came out.

"I was watching all of these, and I could relate heavily to what they were saying and what they were talking about and being in that part of your life where it feels like, 'Yeah, I've kind of done what I wanted to do with it. I think it's time to move on from it,'" Jacksepticeye explained.

"But I didn't really feel like I was ready to."

"I think within the last five years, it's become apparent that I've struggled quite a bit with keeping up with content, keeping up with the passion, keeping up with the energy, keeping up with my audience. It's been more overwhelming in the last five years than it has been in the first five years of doing it," he said.

After getting candid about his feelings and thoughts about being on YouTube for a long time, he assured his followers that he would still make content in the next two years before venturing into other creative pursuits.

"I definitely think I probably have about two years left in me at the very max of doing things the way I am currently doing them. I want to springboard to other stuff, do other creatively fulfilling things," he explained.
