Jamie Foxx joked that people only stopped believing he was cloned after he began dating a white woman.

After his mysterious health scare last year, a conspiracy theory that Foxx was replaced with a clone or artificial intelligence surfaced, with some fans claiming he looked very different following his hospital stay.

On Friday, a video resurfaced on X, formerly Twitter, of Foxx addressing his April 2023 medical emergency and the outrageous rumors surrounding it during the African American Film Critics Association's (AAFCA) Special Achievement Awards luncheon in March.

In the clip, the Oscar winner, who accepted AAFCA's Producers Award, recalled how rumors ran rampant for months that the sightings of him after his hospitalization were not actually him but rather a clone.

"I'm on a boat like this (waving). 'That's a clone!' I dove out of a car to save this Black woman's purse and I'm taking a picture and 'That ain't no damn Jamie. That's a clone!'" Foxx recalled.

Foxx was referring to him being spotted riding a boat and cruising along the Chicago River in early July 2023, three months after he was rushed to a hospital for an undisclosed illness. Just days after that, the actor was seen in another video returning a woman's lost purse in Chicago.

Poking fun at his history of dating white women, Foxx joked during his speech that the clone speculations only died down after he was seen out with his girlfriend, Alyce Huckstepp.

"Then they saw me with a white girl. 'That's Jamie. You know he love them white b*****s,'" Foxx quipped, causing the audience to roar with laughter. "Come on, man. That's why I didn't think I was [going to] get this award. I said, 'Am I Black enough?"

A number of X users apparently agreed with Foxx's comments.

"Crying at Jamie Foxx sayin that black people stopped accusing him of being a clone when they seen him back outside with [a white woman]," one X user wrote, adding laughing emojis.

"He's so self aware [for real,] but I mean[,] he's not wrong either," another person commented.

"[Not gonna lie], had he suddenly started dating black women I would’ve known immediately they got him floating in a tank somewhere," a third user claimed.

Foxx was spotted holding hands with Huckstepp during a getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in September last year.

In photos published by Page Six, the actor was all smiles, dressed in a black jacket, matching joggers, sunglasses and white sneakers. His girlfriend also went for an all-black outfit and white sneakers.

It is unclear when Foxx and Huckstepp began dating, but the outlet noted that the two were previously photographed packing on the PDA in May 2022.

Before his relationship with Huckstepp, Foxx has dated or been romantically linked to several other white women over the years, including Connie Kline, the U.S. Air Force veteran with whom he shares daughter Corinne.

According to Page Six, the exes were in a relationship in 1993 and co-parented their daughter after parting ways.

Foxx was said to have dated Katie Holmes from 2013 to 2019, but the pair never publicly confirmed their romance.

The Grammy winner was also linked to Dana Caprio and Kate Beckinsale in 2019.

Meanwhile, Foxx previously explained why he chose to stay away from the public eye for months after being hospitalized and treated for his medical complication.

In an Instagram video posted in July 2023, he told fans, "I just didn't want you to see me like that. I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show. I just didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through."

Foxx also denied the rumors he went blind or was paralyzed, though he admitted he "went to hell and back" during his health crisis.

However, he assured fans that he had recovered well enough to go back to work and that they would see more of him.
