Carey Codd, public information officer for the Broward Sheriff's Office, informed 'USA TODAY' on Thursday that detectives, in conjunction with the Davie Police SWAT team, executed arrest and search warrants at a residence in Southwest Ranches following an investigation.

The investigation led to the arrest of Kingston's 62-year-old mother, Janice Turner, on "numerous fraud and theft charges."

Local News 10 reported that the "Beautiful Girls" singer was not at the residence during the raid.

Currently, details regarding Turner's arrest and whether Kingston faces any charges remain uncertain.

Court documents obtained by the newspaper reveal that earlier this month, Turner faced a civil lawsuit from Curran Living Trust for $100,000 in unpaid rent at a different Florida location.

Kingston, 34, is also dealing with legal issues of his own. In February, Ver Ver Entertainment sued him for breach of contract and fraud, accusing him of not paying for a 232-inch TV and premium sound system, that retailed for $150,000, WSVN-7 reports. The lawsuit claims he used his celebrity status, including a connection to Justin Bieber, to negotiate a lower price. The company seeks $30,000 and attorney fees in a jury trial.

Attorney Dennis Card, representing Ver Ver Entertainment, informed Local 10 News outside the raid on Thursday that they intend to recover the equipment.

"He basically has a sales pitch that he goes through to defraud people. He induces them into giving him really expensive things," Card alleged. "We know that our property is inside this house right here, so as soon as the raid takes place we are going to have a crew of people in there to reassemble it and take it back to its rightful owner."

The Miami, Florida, native addressed the raid and the headline news on his Instagram Story Thursday.
