Jennifer Lopez's Spanish speaking skills are getting compared to those of her husband Ben Affleck after a recent clip showed her struggling with the language in an interview.

In the now-viral clip, Lopez talked about her role as Selena Quintanilla in the 1997 biopic about the late singer and the lessons she learned from it during an appearance on "Hoy Día," a daytime news show on the Spanish-language network Telemundo, on May 13.

The "Hustlers" star initially attempted to give her answer in Spanish but eventually gave up and finished the interview in English.

"Más lindos, más...," she said in the video shared by Telemundo on TikTok and reposted to X, formerly Twitter, appearing to struggle to find the words to complete her sentence.

The singer-actress then looked up and said in English, "Oh God, how do I say it?"

Lopez went on to say a few more sentences in Spanish before ultimately reverting to English.

Lopez's attempt to conduct an interview in Spanish drew mockery from users on X, with some saying that her husband had better Spanish-speaking skills.

"This is painful to watch," one person commented, while another wrote, "She was struggling."

"How she just gave up halfway through lol," a third user wrote.

Another joked, "JLo went a little too hard with the white adjacency."

"The fact that Ben speaks better Spanish than her is hilarious to me," another commented.

Others came to Lopez's defense, saying that her struggle was common among bilingual individuals.

One X user sympathized with Lopez and shared their own experience, writing: "I can't fault her for trying; at least she made an effort. ... I was fully bilingual once, but after living in the U.S. for the last three decades, I've noticed my Spanish fluency isn't as polished as it used to be."

As his wife was getting ridiculed over her Telemundo interview, Affleck went viral for his impressive Spanish-speaking skills again after a clip of him showing off his fluency during an interview resurfaced on X.

"Ben Affleck speaks Spanish like (sic) if he were raised in Tijuana," an X user wrote alongside the clip.

During a 2020 appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," the Oscar winner shared that he picked up Spanish as a teenager while shooting a television series in Mexico.

According to Affleck, his daughter Violet -- whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner -- inspired him to continue improving his skills when she began learning the language.

"I don't mind that I can't do your math homework," Affleck told Clarkson of his eldest. "But you are not going to be better at Spanish than me."

Lopez also praised her husband's command of the language during an interview with Access Hollywood earlier this month.

She said that Affleck speaks "really great Spanish" and "loves" not only the language but also "the culture" and "the people" of Mexico.
