Kim Kardashian uploaded onto Instagram a photo of what looks like the iPhone 5S before the anticipated device's rumored official release, according to New York Daily News.

The reality star posted a blurry photo on Monday of herself holding what appears to be Apple's newest phone model. She stares into a mirror holding a sleek dark gray-and-black phone and captioned the image "selfie."

The model is not available to the general public yet. 

Kardashian may have gotten the unveiled device as a result of her beau's friendship with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, according to the report. Kanye West, her boyfriend and the father of Kardashian's child North West, is reportedly good friends with Wozniak.

For Father's Day Kardashian gave Kanye a pair of vintage Apple computer mouses signed by Steve Jobs before he died in 2011 and Wozniak, which the latter reportedly hand delivered. Kanye tweeted a photo of the gift with the caption, "One of the other gifts my girl gave me for fathers day."

Apple's newest phones - the iPhone 5S and 5C - will reportedly be announced on Tuesday, and could be available for purchase by mid-September. The 5S will run on Apple's new operating system, iOS 7. It is believed to have a fingerprint sensor, an updated camera, a better battery, and perhaps a Super HD display, according to TechRadar.

Apple recently sent out several invitations for a Sept. 10 press event, stirring speculation that the new device will be unveiled at the gathering. Numerous sites provide a live blogging account of the event, including CNET,EngadgetGizmodo. Live Tech Keynotes also promises to carry coverage of the event on their Ustream account.
