More casting rumors have started swirling about the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie.

The highly-anticipated film which will feature Henry Cavill's Superman against Ben Affleck's Batman has spurned several rumors of other possible castings, including recent ones involving Star Trek's William Shatner (also known as the "Priceline Negotiator"), and music superstar Justin Timberlake.

According to the International Business Times, rumors were flying that Timberlake wanted to play the role of Riddler more than anything because the green-suited baddie was his favorite Batman villain, but the superstar has since denied the reports.

"No, no, no. Fanboys rejoice, I have no aspirations for that," he said.

He did praise his Runner Runner co-star Ben Affleck though, saying he thinks the actor/director would do a great job playing Batman, and that he was proud to have worked with him on their film.

"I was stoked to work with Ben, especially at this point in his career," he said.

When the news broke that Affleck would be playing Batman, Shatner tweeted "@BenAffleck Congratulations! If you need an Alfred let me know!:-)-William Shatner@ William Shatner."

Shatner was believed to be joking at the time, but according to the Latinos Post, in a recent interview with Fox Business, Shatner acknowledged that he would actually like the role.

"...I heard somebody said [I wanted to play Alfred]. Well why not?" Shatner said. He also went on to say that if the role was offered to him, he would be open to negotiation.

If Shatner is cast as Alfred, he would be filling the shoes worn by other great actors including Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Miss Congeniality, Now You See Me).

The movie will begin shooting at the beginning of next year in Detroit, and is slated for release on July 17, 2015.
