If World War Z gets a sequel, the film can count on at least one person not being around to see it get made.

Director Marc Forester will not be retuning for the sequel, according to a report on IGN. If the project gets a green light, Paramount might instead look for an entirely new creative team to produce the second film.

The first ran into snags and setbacks, specifically one which required a reshoot of the entire third act of the film.

The film, which was initially supposed to be released in December 2012, was pushed back to a June 21, 2013 release date right before last year's announcement that the cast and crew were heading back to Budapest for a new seven-week round of filming.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, which ran a recent feature on star Brad Pitt, it's no surprise that Forster won't be back, but the sequel is in early development at the studio.

"We are talking about it," Pitt said in the interview. "We are going to investigate a script. We have a lot of ideas we will cull from. Nobody is writing just yet, but we are compiling our ideas."

The highly-publicized film earned a whopping $540 million worldwide and became Pitt's highest-grossing film to date.

Pitt has been nominated for Oscars four times during his career, including Supporting Actor in 1996 for Twelve Monkeys, Lead Actor in 2009 for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and for Lead Actor and Best Picture in 2012 for Moneyball.
