Amid the exit of Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey film, it appears as though actress Dakota Johnson could very well drop out of the role of Anastasia Steele as well.

The 24-year-old was attached to the part of the shy, college graduate in September following the casting of Hunnam.

According to E! News, a close source of the 24-year-old revealed that the actress isn't having the easiest of times dealing with the pressures that accompany such a groundbreaking role.

"Dakota is having a very hard time dealing with all the press. When she first got the role, it was way too much for her."

While the spotlight may be shining too brightly on Johnson, she's clearly no stranger to massive amounts of media attention, as she's the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson.

"Unlike Hunnam, Johnson knows what it's like to live under a microscope, having grown up in the public eye as the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson," stated The Wrap.

Although many fans continue speculating that there's a strong possibility that producers could recast an Ana that's compatible with whoever the new Grey is, the site reported that they'll instead build the cast around Johnson.

"Multiple sources stress that the filmmakers will build the rest of the cast around [Johnson] rather than let the new Christian Grey dictate the ensemble," added the site.

Fifty Shades of Grey is scheduled to launch in theaters on Aug. 1, 2014. Only time will truly indicate just how the casting process will ultimately unfold.
