What better way to enjoy this years Day of the Dead weekend, then by sitting back and watching one of these Top 10 scary movies?

Honorable mentions:

12) A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984),

Favorite quote: "Whatever you do...Don't. Fall. Asleep."  - Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp)

The first honorable mention goes to the fist movie of the series. Before Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) became a parody of himself, he was a deranged, burnt-up murderer. The infamous villain had horrible fashion sense, sporting a ugly red and green striped sweater and a metal-clawed brown leather glove on his right hand. The villain would kill teenagers in their dreams. Sleep with one eye open!

This movie gets bonus points for introducing us to Johnny Depp.

11) Friday the 13th (1980)

Favorite quote: "Help me! Help! Help, Mommy! Help! Help, Mommy! Mommy, help!" - Jason Voorhes (Ari Lehman)

Just like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th delivered the scares, before the franchise was watered down (no pun intended Jason) by sequels. Even still, don't think about this movie while hanging out on a canoe.
