Paul Walker's ex girlfriend Abrianna Atwell was completely heartbroken when she heard the news of his tragic death.

According to reports, Walker and Atwell had been best friends for 12 years, and dated on and off. They had a very close relationship, as they traveled the world together. Just recently, Atwell's father passed away from cancer on Nov. 25. Five days later, she learned that her man and best friend was killed in a fiery car accident.

Atwell recalled to Las Vegas Review Journal of receiving a text from Paul's friend that read, "Call me please." She was in the middle of planning her father's memorial service.

"Paul was going to be with me on the day of my dad's service," she told Las Vegas Sun. "He was the most generous, unconditionally loving person I've known. He gave everything. I will live my life to the fullest extent for my father and Paul."

Before passing away, her father wrote an email to Paul, thanking him for everything he had done in his life.

"My dad told him how much he loved him and how much he appreciated him protecting me. It was an overdue expression of gratitude," she said.

Atwell met Walker when she was in modeling school. They lived together in both Santa Barbara and Santa Monica.

Though Atwell is devastated about Walker's death, she is more worried about Paul's 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Walker.

"We talked every week, at least. We talked a lot about his daughter, who was everything to him," she told The Sun.

Meadow attended the charity event on Saturday in Santa Clarita when the accident took place.

"My heart is aching for Meadow," she said. "Paul was so committed to her. That's what's so hard about this. All he wanted to do was protect his daughter."
