NBC's hit singing competition show The Voice revealed the top 5 contenders for season 5 on Tuesday's live eliminations result show.

Host Carson Daly revealed that Matthew Shuler from Team Christina Aguilera and James Wolpert from Team Adam Levine were this week's bottom two. The singers earned the least number of votes from at-home viewers.

Daly then announced that the "Voice Save" option for the season would end this week. The save is based on votes made on Twitter for the live performances using the hashtag #VoiceSave.

After Twitter users voted on saving Shuler or Wolpert, Daly revealed that Wolpert had garnered the most votes, thus sending Aguilera's act home. Aguilera, like fellow coach Blake Shelton, is now left with just one act with hopes of winning season 5. Levine reigns with three acts in the Top 5.

Prior to the elimination, Kelly Clarkson made a guest appearance and performed her latest single Underneath The Christmas Tree. The song is off her upcoming Christmas album.
