Kate Upton's six-month romance with Maksim Chmerkovskiy has reportedly come to an end because of their conflicting schedules.

"They are really good friends still and speak all the time, but their schedules just made it too difficult and it fell apart," a source told Us Weekly in a Friday report. "[Chmerkovskiy] has a lot of respect for her, but it just wasn't working anymore."

Back in June, it was reported that the Sports Illustrated model started dating the Dancing With The Stars pro. Three months later the two went public with their relationship and were spotted holding hands while casually walking through New York City's West Village.

Chmerkovskiy later gushed about the 21-year-old and said that their romance took them both by surprise.

"She's an amazing person," the 33-year-old dancer told Us Weekly in October. "We have an incredible time together, and, you know, I definitely didn't see that coming and I think neither did she. We enjoy each other's company very much and like I said, she's a great girl that I never thought anything romantic like this could have happened."

The dancer even raved about his lady with People in November and said that Upton may be beautiful but she's also got brains too.

"She is extremely intelligent. We talk about everything including politics," he said. "She got everything pretty much herself and I respect that. I love how she can go from being girly to being a businesswoman in the snap of a finger."
