Jake Gyllenhaal and Sports Illustrated model Alyssa Miller, have reportedly broken up.

The couple ended their relationship after six months of dating, announced Tuesday.

"They fizzled out," a source told Perez Hilton. "It happened a while ago- before the holidays."

Another source said, "Things were really good between Jake and Alyssa right up until he had to leave for L.A. to go shoot a movie in the fall. Then the distance just really got to them."

Gyllenhaal previously dated Kirsten Dunst, Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift.

Gyllenhaal is working on a number of films as of late.

He stars in the upcoming 2014 film Nightcrawler, about a man who discovers freelance crime journalism in underground Los Angeles. The film also stars Bill Paxton and Rene Russo. A release date is yet to be announced.

The Brokeback Mountain star has another film coming out in the near future called Nailed. The romantic comedy has Gyllenhaal playing a senator who falls for a young woman, played by Jessica Biel, who got a nail lodged in her head. The film also has no specific release date.

The actor will also star in Everest, set to release on Dec. 19, 2014. Gyllenhaal and Josh Brolin play hikers on Mt. Everest who get caught up in a dangerous snow storm.
