Get ready for The 2012 MTV Movie Awards tonight. The award ceremony will feature A-list celebrities, live performances and exclusive footage from upcoming films. It will be aired live at 9p.m. EST. 

British comedian Russell Brand is expected to host the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California. The movies leading with the most nominations are "The Hunger Games" and "Bridesmaids". 

Along with "The Hunger Games" and "Bridesmaids", other films up for the nomination for Movie of the Year are: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," "The Help," and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1". 

Other A-list presenters to grace the stage at the awards are: Emma Watson, Andy Samberg, Emma Stone, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis, Jessica Biel, and Jodie Foster.

Actor Johnny Depp will be honored with an exclusive MTV Generation Award as well. 

Exclusive footage from  the much anticipated film "The Dark Knight Rises" will be featured as well as the new trailer for "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

Live musical performances will be given by Fun, the Black Keys, Martin Solveig and Wiz Khalifa. 

According to MTV, the channel will also air  the first re-election campaign ad of President Barack Obama during the show.
