Mel Gibson's 93-year-old Dad Divorces Wife of 10 Years
Mel Gibson's 93-year-old dad has filed for divorce. According to a petition filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court today, Hutton Gibson cited irreconcilable differences from his wife of ten years Teddy Joye Gibson, who is reportedly in her 70's.
The pair tied the knot in 2002. Hutton did not have any children with Teddy - who was Mel Gibson's stepmother. Mel's mother Anne, who had 11 children with Hutton, passed away in 1990.
According to TMZ, Hutton is a devout Catholic.
Mel Gibson was born in New York but moved to Australia when he was just 12 years old. He went to study at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Australia. He starred in the successful "Lethal Weapon" movie series, he went onto direct and produce his own films.
Mel Gibson directed and starred in the Academy award-winning "Braveheart." He also directed and produced "The Passion of the Christ" in 2004.
Mel and his first wife Robyn were married for 26 years before they divorced in 2006. She received the biggest payout in Hollywood history of $400 million.
In 2010, and investigation was launched by his ex-girlfriend Grigorieva in response to claims of domestic violence.
