A hangout between Meryl Streep and 50 Cent may have seemed unlikely but the two enjoyed each other's company at the New York Knicks game on Sunday.

The rapper and the three-time Oscar winner shared several laughs as they sat courtside to watch the Knicks defeat the Los Angeles Lakers in Madison Square Garden.

Streep, who was there with her husband Don Gummer, also posed with 50 Cent for some photos posted on his Instagram account.

In one picture, the two posed in the locker room along with Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant.

The Knicks digital media coordinator, Charlie Widdoes, also tweeted a photo of the rapper and actress at the game with the caption, "Two peas in a pod."

The Knicks ended Sunday's game with a 110-103 victory giving the team two consecutive wins.

"We needed them," Carmelo Anthony told ESPN. "It was a booster for us confidence-wise. We've got to start building something on our home court."

The team also hopes to continue its winning streak when they play the Celtics, Cavaliers and Heat this week.

"We're going to take it one game at a time," Anthony said. "We got one Tuesday and see if we can continue the streak."
