Taylor Swift is used to winning prestigious awards, but her unexpected loss was captured at Sunday night's Grammy Awards and it's gone viral.

The singer, who was nominated for Album of the Year for Red, was captured in a fan-made Vine video thinking she had won the award. She quickly recovered when she realized the actual winner was Daft Punk for Random Access Memories.

The 23-year-old singer was caught as she initially reacted with surprise, thinking her album had won, until she heard the presenter announce Daft Punk's name instead of hers. Swift quickly recovered by clapping for the dance music duo, while members of her management team expressed more disappointment over the superstar's loss, complete with grimaces and bowing their heads.

Swift has been a bit of an awards juggernaut since bursting onto the country/pop scene back in 2006 with her self-titled debut album and hit single Teardrops on my Guitar. Since then, the singer has released three other successful albums: Fearless, Speak Now and Red.

Swift's music, which is closely tied to her experiences with romantic relationships, has won her several awards over the years. She has previously won seven Grammys, 14 Country Music Awards, 15 American Music Awards, 13 Country Music Association Awards and 21 American Country Awards, as well as several more.

Her most popular songs have all been rumored to be about her relationships with high-profile exes including One Direction's Harry Styles, actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Lautner and singers John Mayer and Joe Jonas.

Swift admitted back in December that she finds writing about heartbreak easier for her.

"I do tend to write more songs when I have a broken heart, though, because when you're in love, you're just so fascinated by the fact you're in love that you don't take the time to write down everything that you're feeling," she told Hello! magazine.

Swift also revealed in December that she plans to release her newest album later this year, and that it will feature lots of collaboration with other artists.
