Jennifer Aniston, who turned 45 on Tuesday, joked about recurrent rumors regarding her relationship with Justin Theroux and motherhood.

While conducting an interview with author and activist Gloria Steinem for The Makers Conference in Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif. on Monday, Aniston quipped about intrusive reports on her private life.

"Being in the public eye, us women come up against this, that our value and worth is dependent on our marital status and or if we've procreated," Aniston told Steinem, according to E! News.

To that Steinem replied, "Well, I guess we're in deep s--t." The actress also responded with her own witty remark.

"That's what I thought," Aniston, who doesn't have any children, said. "Just wanted to make sure that was the case. That we are, in fact, in deep s--t."

Aniston and her beau Theroux, who have been engaged since 2012, have yet to tie the knot causing the media to speculate on their relationship. However, the Horrible Bosses star made sure to shut down negative allegations over the summer.

"We have yet to set any dates. There have been no canceled weddings. There have been no postponed weddings. There have been no arguments about where to get married. Just clearing all that up," the 44-year-old actress told The New York Daily News last July.

"We just want to do it when it's perfect, and we're not rushed, and no one is rushing from a job or rushing to a job... and, you know, we already feel married."
