While it's been speculated that Girls star Adam Driver would take on a role as a villain in Star Wars: Episode VII, it looks like his chances of snagging the part are getting higher and higher.

Han Solo's Millenium Falcon To Be In Seventh Film?

On Wednesday, Variety announced that the actor is close to signing on to play the villain although details are unknown. The only piece of scoop that was released was that the actor could play a Darth Vader-like villain.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lucasfilm and Disney declined to comment on the situation. This could be because the filmmakers have been rumored to try to keep things under wraps.

Leading Female Actress Cast In Seventh Film?

There was a recent rumor that the film was going to be about twins on a dark path although that hasn't been made official either.

Variety also pointed out that it's not completely official that Driver will be in the film, sources close to the actor are saying that he is close.

The day this news was announced, Driver's Girls co-star Lena Dunham seemed to make the news official on her Twitter account.

"We're VERY proud of Adam Driver re: Star Wars. He's about to rip a hole in da force. Is that a thing? I guess I should see those movies?" Dunham tweeted.

Dunham then followed up with another tweet.

"I confirm nothing bc I know nothing bc I'm on a plane with my dad! I just like Adam more than almost anyone, and JJ Abrams a whole lot too," she wrote.

Star Wars: Episode VII is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
