Nicki Minaj posted several new pictures to Instagram yesterday to give fans a glimpse of her real hair and face without makeup, and addresses whether her new au naturale look is here to stay.

Minaj, the 31-year-old rapper and businesswoman, often shares photos with her 4.5 million Instagram followers. Many of them offer behind the scenes looks at her fabulous life, and land on the sexier side of the spectrum. Her newest pictures are no different.

In them, the Starships rapper can be seen with no makeup, no extra hair, and without a top. Her wet hair is supposed to be the main focus of the photos. However, it's obvious that the other featured assets garnered more attention.

Speculation surfaced as to why she bothered to post them. Idolator thinks that the racy pictures were all a stunt to get her name in the headlines, and to promote her new single.

However, according to her tweets, this new 'real hair' look may be here to stay. A fan tweeted to her on Wednesday, "So is this natural look permanent Nic??" She neither denied nor confirmed whether or not she would continue wearing her infamous wigs, only writing in response "..."

Minaj, who wore her hair naturally for four years under her wigs, also permed her locks to save time when getting ready. While most of her fans were upset to hear the news, she tweeted, "It takes too much time to do it. Too much blow drying... Sowwy!"

She also jokingly added, "Plus I got new hair products Coming out so I gotta show u guys how well they work."

Will the new Nicki Minaj be a more natural, toned down version than what fans are used to seeing? If her new video for Lookin' A**, she did put her natural tresses on display.
