Rumors have flown about the status of their relationship for months, and while he still won't officially comment, actor Ryan Gosling appears to have confirmed that his relationship with Eva Mendes is still going strong.

Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes Secretly Engaged?

While appearing on the red carpet for the San Francisco premiere of the film White Shadow on May 6, Gosling showed why he is considered one of the sexiest men in Hollywood by dressing in casual brown jeans and a simple black jacket. However, it was the actor's choice of neck accessory that has gotten the world buzzing about his relationship.

Suspended on a long silver chain, the actor wore a simple, round pendant charm with the name Hugo engraved on it.

Ryan Gosling Cheating With Rachel McAdams?

Mendes, 40, is the owner of a Belgian Malinois named Hugo, a dog the couple has been seen walking together around Los Angeles.

Though he has never publicly commented on his nearly three-year romance with the actress and fashion designer, the necklace appears to now be Gosling's coy way of acknowledging that he is still indeed with his Place Beyond the Pines co-star, who he hasn't been photographed with in public since 2013.

The couple's lack of being photographed together, as well as not publicly commenting on their relationship, has resulted in numerous rumors about their relationship, including several reports they had broken up because of commitment issues and even cheating. One popular rumor even claimed Gosling had been planning on rekindling his romance with his Notebook co-star and former girlfriend, Rachel McAdams.

The most recent rumor about the couple however, seemed to indicate they were not only still together, but were actually secretly engaged and planning a wedding. Mendes also recently sold the home she used to share with ex-boyfriend George Augusto.

Though Mendes has not yet been spotted wearing a tell-tale ring on her left hand to fully confirm the report, Gosling's choice of neckwear could be his way of hinting that he does plan to marry his girlfriend.

The couple is expected to make their first public appearance together at the Cannes Film Festival later this month, where Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River, is set to screen. Mendes starred in the film.
