Downton Abbey is reportedly about to become extra dramatic while having humor and sweetness at the same time.

Former Character Returning To The Series?

Series creator Julian Fellowes recently told Red Carpet News TV in a clip published on Sunday that he likes strong storylines, but he also likes adding moments that can make viewers feel good inside as well.

"It gives you an opportunity to say things and to make some kind of observation about the world we live in, you know," Fellowes said. "And then you sprinkle a bit of charm and humor over the top of it. and that seems to be the recipe."

One Of The Main Characters Quitting The Series?

This gives some speculation on how much charm he plans to use next season, and if it'll blend well with the dark drama that usually takes place on the British series.

Downton Abbey has become a massive success, which Fellowes apparently feels wonderful about.

"But I certainly feel very flattered and very rewarded when we do become the big thing, you know, in the national conversation as they call it now," he said.

The creator also revealed that the series will move into a different world in the 1920's that will cause some big changes for the characters as they have to deal with the generation they live in.

"In those few years in between, there was this dawning realization that the world had become a different place, and that seems to me a very rewarding setting for a drama, really, as they all have to come to terms with a new world," Fellowes said.

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
