Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are going strong but the Just Friends actor revealed they hit a snag just after their honeymoon.

During a press conference for his newest project Captives, Reynolds dished on how their amazing honeymoon quickly took a left turn when he had to jet set to Canada to be on the set of the Captives and whisked his new bride along with him.

"I dragged by wife from our honeymoon in Africa and landed her in Ontario, Canada when it was -40 degrees. [We checked] into this little roadside hotel where we stayed for a month. That was the biggest challenge," he said at the Cannes Film Festival in France Friday.

The struggle might have been for him because Reynolds said Lively took the not-so-romantic conditions champ.

"Ironically, she coped with it far better than I did."

Still, it wasn't all bad for the actor.

"I felt privileged to get the chance just to be there."

He also got to work under well-known Canadian director Atom Egoyan.

Reynolds was also sporting a new look when he arrived in Nice, France Thursday. He showed off his rough beard with a few tints of grey hairs; most likely making a few fans give him a double take. He rocked a dapper look with a light blue button up, navy blue vest, matching pants and brown boots. It's a far different look than what most fans are used to seeing from the baby-faced superstar.

Lively arrived at the festival earlier this week.
