Marvel is bringing Agent Carter to the small screen, and fans will be getting a lot of bang out of the series' short freshman season.

Where Is Fitz On 'Agents of SHIELD'? How Is Nick Fury Planning To Save Him?

Hayley Atwell, who will be reprising her title role, recently confirmed that the season will dive into Carter's inner battles over the course of 8 episodes. Set to air while Agents of SHIELD is on hiatus this January, the series will follow the Captain America character through her post-World War Two struggles as she tries to find a place in Earth's secret battles that is suitable for her vast skill set.

"I think over the arc of the eight episodes there will be a very different facet to who she is which won't disappoint the fans in making sure that she has a story within her self as well as the stories of each episode - fighting who she fights against and still battling with her own demons and losing the love of her life and what the personal cost to her that is," Atwell explained, according to Marvel. "There are many different ideas behind who she is and I think that she's going to become more interesting."
