'Mutant' is a forbidden word in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that can't stop James McAvoy from hoping for a X-Men and Avengers crossover.

'Ant-Man' Movie Loses Director Edgar Wright, How Will This Affect The Story?

McAvoy will reprise his role as Charles Xavier in this weekend's X-Men: Days of Future Past, and the British actor wouldn't mind taking on the Avengers in a future production - mostly because he is absolutely positive his X-Men could beat Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

"I would like to see us fight them, though. I'd like us not to team up. I'd like to see us fight them and, you know, annihilate them, as we surely would," McAvoy joked at a SiriusXM Town Hall, according to Entertainment Weekly https://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/05/23/xmen-james-mcavoy-hugh-jackman/ . "Be like, 'Hey, Robert Downey. Oh, here you go. There's your ass.' 'Sorry, I've got a bunch of asses in my hand. I think they belong to you Avengers?'"

Considering The Avengers: Age of Ultron will include two mutants of it's own, McAvoy shouldn't be too convinced of the X-Men's superiority. While the 2015 Joss Whedon production will not refer to Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) as mutants due to rights issues, Magneto's twin children will be kicking off the 'Age of Miracles' in the MCU.

You can catch X-Men: Days of Future Past in theaters now. The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is slatted for a May 1, 2015 release.
