In the same interview, the actress also suggested that she was skeptical about taking on the role of Claire in the Netflix political drama when producer David Fincher approached her because she worried she might need to go under the knife to play the part. The 48-year-old actress didn't want to get any cosmetic surgery done to be able to take the role, and was prepared to turn it down.

"I was sitting there going, 'You're 45, and you're not gonna get a face-lift,' " she said. "I was really considering that stuff, because in Hollywood the pressure's there. You better lift that face and pump those lips and hike those boobs! And I was like, 'I don't want to do that. I'm going to get older. I'm going to have wrinkles!'"

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
