The Duchess of Cambridge's little sister gave her first television interview ever this week with Today's Matt Lauer on NBC.

Pippa Middleton Engagement Rumors

The 30-year-old Philippa "Pippa" Middleton first hit the international spotlight when her sister Kate Middleton married Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and second in line for the throne in England.

Born in Reading, U.K. to parents Carole and Michael Middleton, Kate and Pippa also have a younger brother James, who has primarily managed to avoid the spotlight.

Prince George Christening News

While Pippa's fashion and love life have received incredible scrutiny since William and Kate's wedding in 2011, the Today interview finally allows Pippa to give voice to her own story.

E! reported early this morning that Pippa discussed her recent 12-state Bike Across America trip with her brother, as well as her life as a party planner and magazine columnist. She also talked about her ties to the royal family.

Lauer reportedly joked with Pippa. "She was riding in a bike event," Lauer explained to the audience during their interview, "And instead of me being able to interview her there [in the United States], I had to fly 3,000 miles to interview you here. What's up with that?"

Pippa's response was riddled with laughter as she insisted she was on a bike during the whole of her trip to America. The brief preview for the interview recently aired on Today, showing a soft-spoken and nervous looking Pippa, though she was all smiles and good humor.

The UK's Daily Mail released a number of on-set photos from the interview, most of which showed Pippa in a white top and jeans as she and Lauer talked over tea.

The exclusive Today interview will be divided into a two-part television event. The first half with air on NBC Monday, June 30. Part two will continue Tuesday, July 1.
