Porn star Belle Knox, whose real name is Miriam Weeks, wrote a new column on society's mistreatment of women as well as something she discovered ever since she got involved with X-rated films.

Belle Knox Opens Up On Women Oppression

The story that was published on Jezebel on Wednesday starts off with how Weeks expected to be criticized for doing porn, and how it connects to sex workers who take on a different type of lifestyle.

"Since filming my first porn scene, I've discovered that sex work segregates itself along perceived social and legal lines ranging from phone-sex operation to stripping and porn to prostitution," she wrote.

Weeks went on to describe how even porn stars are put on different levels based on the kinds of scenes they choose to do.

"Women who engage in specifically interracial or edgier scenes are viewed as somehow 'lower' by other performers," she wrote. "I was marginalized within the industry for my work on a rough sex website. I've witnessed colleagues receive racist epithets for their work on interracial products. Gay or trans performers are particularly ostracized by the mainstream due to the AIDS stigma attached to their work."

The X-rated actress wrote more about the concept of prostitution and how "infighting" does not serve people who make money through sexuality.

"It serves to perpetuate the myths necessary to maintain a misogynistic society," she added. "It makes us distrustful and keeps us fighting each other instead of fighting for each other. And it keeps us living in a world where sex workers are socially and institutionally marginalized and discriminated against. It robs us of support from the very industry that we are hated for engaging in."
