After reports went out that Harrison Ford injured his leg while filming Star Wars: Episode VII, it turns out the incident might cause a delay in filming.

Possible Reason Revealed Why J.J. Abrams Chose Andy Serkis

On Tuesday, The Straits Times announced that the actor is recuperating from surgery since he broke his leg, which will cause a two-week halt in filming.

Disney had apparently said that filming would continue as scheduled while Ford recovered, and the release date for the film to come out in December 2015 is still going through.

'Episode VII' Concept Art Is 'Amazing'

"In August, the team will take a brief two-week hiatus while adjustments to the current production schedule are made as actor Harrison Ford recovers from a leg injury," Disney said.

Ford's injury reportedly happened about a month ago while filming Episode VII.

Actor and director Kevin Smith made a visit to the set where he dished on the amazement of what it looked like.

"So we go to the set, and they're actually shooting- and this is what I can't tell you what they were shooting- but what I saw I absolutely loved," Smith said, published in Rolling Stone. "It was tactile; it wasn't a series of f---ing green and blue screens in which later on digital characters would be added. It was there; it was happening."

Smith reportedly signed a nondisclosure agreement that restricted him from revealing any specific details about the film.

Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to hit theaters on December 18, 2015, and is supposed to be in IMAX.
