The NBC competition series America's Got Talent is currently in its ninth season, but the network has already decided the program is worth keeping around.

The Wrap announced yesterday that NBC has officially renewed the talent competition, which will air its tenth season in 2015.

America's Got Talent has been making a lot of noise over the last few weeks, receiving higher ratings even for re-runs than shows on other networks this summer. Bob Greenblatt, entertainment chief at NBC, believes that the series has helped NBC dominate summer ratings for 2014.

Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Late Night Programming for NBC Entertainment, agreed with Greenblatt. Telegdy explained that the renewal of the series "is evidence that we [NBC] continue to hut our stride in delivery quality entertainment to a board viewership."

While there is often controversy amongst fans over cancelled and renewed programming, Telegdy believes that America's Got Talent should be rewarded for its strong performance in the ratings this year. All of the hard-working talented people... both behind and in front of the camera," he said, "Should feel very proud of their achievements."

So far the series has seen a number of accomplished musicians, bands, singers, magicians and comedians this season. With the audition round over, it will be up to the judges to decide who will continue in the competition.

America's Got Talent continues with eliminations on NBC Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
