Ferrell, who in the past has not been shy about posting pics of her and her beau online, shared a rather dark quote on Instagram Friday, just days after break-up rumors began to spread.

"The most confused we ever get it when we try to convince our heads of something our hearts know is a lie," read the Karen Moning quote printed in white letters across a black background.

Fans and tabloids alike have begun to read into this statement, speculating that Ferrell's "confusion" and acknowledgment of a "lie" both have to do with her relationship.

Ferrell has spent the last week visiting family in Colorado, while Galavis was seen partying with other women in Atlantic City.

Galavis has maintained on Twitter that rumors about their relationship coming apart are in fact false. She did not make a joke about in on Twitter last Tuesday, but she has not mentioned it since talk of cheating has heated up and Ferrell has not made any serious statements on the allegations in any capacity.

Early in her Colorado getaway Ferrell and Galavis frequently exchanges affectionate banter on Twitter, though this has ceased.

The last photograph she posted on Instagram of her and Galavis together was on June 9.
