The Dark Knight Star Skeptical Of Batman v Superman: 'We Shall See'

Warner Bros. revealed an extreme closeup of Affleck wearing his Batman mask on Thursday, just in time for Comic-Con. While the casting of Affleck has been fraught with criticism and playful jabs, one actor who is confident in him is Adam West.

"My feeling is that Ben Affleck will be really good simply because he's a great talent," West told People at Comic-Con. "And I'd be very interested in seeing him in the role."

As most fans know, West played Batman in the 1960s television series of the same name. With the Batman character turning 75 years old this month, West said that he has been happy with the Dark Knight's legacy.

"[I'm] really a lucky actor because I was able to be part of something that has that kind of longevity that you talk about," he noted. "And I think that with each succeeding generation, the kids can watch with their parents or grandparents, and the kids grow up remembering the show well. And they pass it on to their kids."

As for advice for Affleck assuming the role, West simply said to "just make the costume work for you."

Affleck will be co-starring in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with Henry Cavill, who is reprising his role as Superman. Other actors include Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Alfred, the butler.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
