One of the biggest reveals from Marvel as of late was the announcement that Thor would become the Goddess of Thunder and Sam Wilson would be taking over for Steve Rogers as Captain America. But when will those characters be hitting the big screen?

Marvel's Kevin Feige spoke with The Huffington Post and waned the interest of seeing those characters on the big screen just yet.

"I love when they change things up and move things along and do the unexpected," Feige said.

"That's why these characters have endured for 50-plus years, and it gives us material to keep the movies fresh down the line. I'm not going to say any of those changes are going to happen any time soon in the movies, but the fact that they have happened -- and, by the way, that's happened before; there have been female Thors and black Captain Americas in the past -- keeps it current and in the public eye."

Marvel just recently announced a schedule set for films up to 2019, and with rumors of Black Panther and Ms. Marvel popping up, it could lead to some more diversity in the cast. But it seems like Marvel wants to keep the cast like it is for the foreseeable future to keep them well-known with audiences.

"Listen, I mean, one of the nicknames of Marvel comics is 'The House of Ideas,'" Feige said of the source material available to him. "Everything they do in publishing becomes possible material for us to turn into movies."
