The cast and producers of FX's American Horror Story convened at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday and revealed a slew of details about Freak Show, the upcoming fourth season of the horror anthology series.

All My Children Actor Cast in American Horror Story: Freak Show

The season is set to feature another villain that is said to rival Rubber Man from Murder House, Bloody Face from Asylum and the Minotaur from Coven, according to executive producer Tim Minear, via The Hollywood Reporter. Freak Show will feature a villain played by John Carroll Lynch (Zodiac).

As Enstars previously reported, the leaked casting sheet revealed that Lynch would be playing "Twisted Clown" in the series. Minear said that Lynch's character will "scare the s--- out of you."

Minear explained that Freak Show would be a mix between cult film director Douglas Sirk and, appropriately, Zodiac, adding, "It's not like the first three seasons."

The show's cast was also able to reveal their character names in Freak Show, with some of them previously being leaked by the call sheet. Jessica Lange's character name is Elsa Mars, Sarah Paulson's is Bette and Dot Tattler, Kathy Bates' is Effil Darling, Evan Peters' is Jimmy Darling, Michael Chiklis' is Wendell Del Toredo, Angela Bassett's is Desiree Dupree and Emma Roberts' is Maggie.

The most buzzed about character of Freak Show appears to be Paulson's Bette and Dot, with the actress playing a two-headed person. The actress revealed that Bette is her favorite as of right now, for reasons she was unable to express, "It feels very organic to me and I love her."

Paulson is playing both characters and her scenes are being filmed in a way that has never been done before onscreen.

"No person has played a person with two heads," Paulson explained. "People have done it with another actress [but] this is a new thing." She added that there are about 22 people attending to every scene she is in.

American Horror Story: Freak Show is slated to debut in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date.
