"Jessica and our newest cast member Jyoti Amge...the world's smallest woman," Murphy tweeted along with the photo.

The photo shows Lange looking to be in character as her new role of German expatriate Elsa Mars as she holds Amge.

The 20-year-old Amge is the smallest living woman according to the Guinness Book of World Records, coming in at 2 ft. 0.6 in. She is a citizen of Nagpur, India.

Set in 1952, American Horror Story: Freak Show centers on one of the last remaining freak shows in America. The troupe is living in Jupiter, Fla. where Lange's Elsa Mars owns her troupe of "freaks," who she "saves" by putting them in her freak show.

Some of the actors set to play "freaks" in the new season are Sarah Paulson, who plays the two-headed Dot and Bette Tattler, Kathy Bates, who plays Effil Darling, Evan Peters, who plays presumed son of Effil, Jimmy Darling, Angela Bassett, who plays Desiree Dupree and Frances Conroy, who is playing a yet-to-be-announced character.

Other actors set to star in the new season include Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Jamie Brewer, Denis O'Hare and Michael Chiklis.

American Horror Story: Freak Show is set to premiere in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date.
