Today co-host Savannah Guthrie is now a mom!

Guthrie welcomed her daughter Vale Guthrie Feldman with husband Mike Feldman on Wednesday and she weighed 8 lbs, 5 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. The baby "has blue eyes, a little bit of blondish hair and the chubbiest cheeks you've ever seen," Guthrie told her Today family.

Her colleagues discussed the happy news on Thursday while on air and also explained the meaning of the baby’s name.

Vale is “an old English word – it means ‘valley by a stream’ and they named her that because she was so calm and serene until 10 p.m. last night,” Matt Lauer said. “I actually talked to Savannah and Mike on the phone last night and the baby was fussing a little bit.”

Early on Thursday morning, Guthrie tweeted: “My 3am wake up call sounds a lot different now. Sweeter...”

She also shared an adorable photo of her baby girl sleeping.

This is the first child for Guthrie, who expressed her joy on her Today baby blog. “I’m 42 years old, and I honestly didn’t know if I’d ever get this chance. I’ve never been more thankful, or felt more blessed from above. I know how lucky I am. For a long time, I think I was afraid to even let myself think about how much I hoped to one day have a baby,” she wrote.
