As rumors of director Michael Bay quitting the franchise have been doing the rounds, there has been speculation about if actress Nicola Peltz, who made her Transformers debut with Age of Extinction, will be coming back for the sequel.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction Being Sued For Breaking Contractual Obligations? 

While there have still been reports of Michael Wahlberg sticking on for the trilogy that Age of Extinction reportedly kickstarted, nothing has been said about the continued involvement of the other two leads, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor. Peltz gave a great performance, good enough to have her back for Transformers 5. But only time will tell if the actress will return.

Before the movie's release, Peltz spoke about her anxieties being a newbie on the massive franchise. In an interview with The Michigan Daily, Peltz spoke about the "stigma" of living up to fans' expectations. The fourth installment of the Transformers series is being sold as a new beginning with a completely revamped look at all-new cast, it is going to be the first in a trilogy. Actors like Reynor and Peltz who are essentially new to Hollywood were meant to be the new face of the franchise alongside veteran actor Wahlberg.

Recent reports have stated that Bay might finally be moving on from the franchise. On August 11, IndieWire reported that Bay had hinted at the fact that he might not be as keen on directing the sequel to Age of Extinction. The revelation came from an MTV interview, the director did just after wrapping work on Transformers 4. "There's a lot that's unexplored, but that's for the next director to figure out," he said.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction hits theaters on June 27.
