Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi must really be better than ever, since DeGeneres just made a Twitter joke about Sofia Vergara who was rumored to be a strain in their marriage.

After the 2014 Emmy awards Monday night, DeGeneres joked on Twitter,  "Congratulations, "Modern Family!" They said America wasn't ready, but you proved them wrong. Of course, I'm talking about @SofiaVergara."

Modern Family won for Best Comedy Series at the awards show, but this joke comes months after de Rossi was reportedly jealous of DeGeneres' friendship with the actress. In June, OK! Magazine reported that de Rossi was resentful of Vergara being close with her wife.

"Portia has always thought Ellen was a little too touchy-feely with Sofia," the OK! source said. "They've fought about it before, but Ellen convinced Portia she was blowing the situation out of proportion and that the women were just good friends."

Vergara had just split with fiancé Nick Loeb at the time, but is now in a committed relationship with True Blood star Joe Manganiello. She even told E! Online last night that he couldn't come with her because he was "too hot."

"He's really hot, that's why I didn't bring him," Vergara told Giuliana Rancic. "He's too hot, too tall, he takes a lot of space, so I'm like, 'Listen Joe, please don't come.' Too handsome, too sexy."

"We're having a lot of fun," she continued about her new beau. "We've been going out for just like two months and a half and he's a really funny guy, which is something really important for me and very nice guy."
