Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the most recent member of the "Dark Knight Rises" cast to speak out in response to the horrific shooting at the movie's showing in Aurora, Colorado.  Gordon-Levitt, who plays the character of John Blake, has released a statement via Twitter on the tragedy.

"My most sincere sympathies go out to the families of the victims in Aurora," the star actor tweeted on Monday.

"Dark Night Rises" talents Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and director Christopher Nolan have also publicly expressed their condolences in regards to the horrific event.

Bale, who plays Batman, had this to say over the weekend:

"Words cannot express the horror that I feel."

The gruff English actor closed with the following:

"I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."

The beautiful Anne Hathaway, who plays Catwoman in the film, also touched on the extremely sore subject.

"My heart aches and breaks for the lives taken and altered by this unfathomly senseless act."

The blockbuster's extraordinary director Christopher Nolan had also previously provided his deepest regrets as well.

"I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting but that they were there last night to watch a movie.  I believe movies are one of the great American art forms and the shared experience of watching a story unfold on screen is an important and joyful pastime."

Nolan also stated the following:

"The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me," he said.  "Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families."

Let's hope that the undeserved publicity of alleged killer James Holmes does not overshadow the deep pain being suffered by the victim's loved ones.
