The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice will have to wait a few more days to learn their fate as their federal prison sentence has been pushed back once again.

Instead of receiving their sentence on September 23, the reality TV couple's hearing is now on October 2.

Radar Online reported the news Monday and said it was actually her legal team who asked for the postponement in hopes of allowing the couple to avoid prison.

"There was nothing unusual in Teresa's lawyers asking for the sentencing date to be pushed two weeks," a source said. "The lawyers are in the final stages of preparing their sentencing brief, and just needed some additional facts. It's about giving Joe and Teresa the chance of getting no jail time, and probation in the case."

Because Teresa and Joe pleaded guilty to the federal fraud charges, they were able to have the hearing pushed to a later date. The insider also said the prosecution team and judge were okay with the change.

The couple was originally supposed to get sentenced on July 8. But Joe's father, Frank, tragically and suddenly passed just weeks before, which caused the date to be postponed to September 23.

An insider also said that Teresa is certain the judge will have sympathy and not send her to jail because of her four daughters.

"Teresa is planning on saying she just went along with whatever her husband gave her to sign, and never paid attention to the details."

In the meantime, reports reveal they have put up their New Jersey mansion on the market for $3.99 million. They purchased the home for $530,000 back in 2002 but did not move in for six years. The value of the home increased to $1.2 million back in 2012. No word on why they are selling their home.
