Director Coulson and his team will kick off season 2 with "Shadows," but the last vestiges of SHIELD won't be able to stay hidden in the darkness for long. In the wake of the premiere, Coulson's will have to evade HYDRA, General Talbot, and Creel a.k.a the Absorbing Man.

As Coulson throws a Hail Mary and puts May (Ming-Na Wen), Skye (Chloe Bennet), Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), and Fitz (Iain De Casestecker) directly in the line of fire, Skye's father will also jump into the fray.

Named the Doctor (no, not that one) and played by Kyle MacLachlan, Skye's monstrous and mysterious patriarch will " harbor some dangerous secrets that could destroy one of our core team members." Possibly teamed with Raina (Ruth Negga), it appears this Doctor may have the answer to more than just Skye's 0-8-4 status.
