Country singer Keith Urban and actress wife Nicole Kidman (Stoker, Grace of Monaco) have done movies, red carpets, concerts and award shows, but this past week the couple headed into uncharted territory: kindergarten.

Keith Urban Receives 4 CMA Nominations

Recently their eldest daughter, six-year-old Sunday, headed to school for the first time and so far things are going well. "Ah, it feels good," Urban told The Tennessean on Thursday. "She took to it like a duck to water, just loved it."

While some children would be reluctant or shy, Urban insisted that Sunday has adapted smoothly. "She went straight in there and she knew a couple of kids in there already, just family friends," he explained, "So that made it easy."

Unfortunately, not everyone in the household is handling Sunday's absence quite as well. The pair's youngest daughter Faith, now three, has become impatient to catch up. "Faith is anxious now to join big sis because she's been left behind now for a beat," said Urban, who as a younger brother himself could relate to the sentiment from when he was a kid.

The country star is known for taking the whole family out on the road with him when he tours and Kidman isn't filming, but now that Sunday is in school they've alerted the schedule so that the girls only go out on the weekends.

"For me, it's just turning my clock around," Urban admitted. "Nic and I both get up at 6 o'clock in the morning with the kids and get them settled and taken off to school. Then I try and come back and catch another half an hour of sleep because I'm so on the tour schedule. It's a funny thing, flipping that around from day to day."

Married in 2006, Urban and Kidman have two children together. They continue to live in Nashville, Tenn.
