Former ABC Bachelor stars Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell debuted on Season 5 of VH1's Couples Therapy Wednesday night.

Last week Galavis and Ferrell were confirmed as one of the new couples on the reality series, though their involvement has been suspected for a few months.

Galavis has been promoting their appearance pretty hard through social media, posting ads even while he and his girlfriend were on vacation in Bali last week. Shortly before the first episodes aired, however, the former soccer player opened on to his fans on Twitter.

"Tonight at 9 @VH1 #CouplesTherapy5, one of the BEST and most GRATIFYING experiences…" declared Galavis. "It wasn't EASY, but totally WORTH it…"

Of course, both Galavis and Ferrell knew there would be some backlash for their appearance on the series. Frequently deemed one of the "worst" Bachelors by haters and critics, Galavis has not had an easy go of it in the media and neither has his girlfriend.

"Guys @Nikki_Ferrell DEACTIVITATED her account to see who WOULD say things to her FACE if there was no computer to hide BEHIND…" he announced on Twitter Wednesday night following the episode. While he seemed both amused and impressed by her decision, it appears Ferrell might not be taking the criticism as well as her beau is.

Couples Therapy continues on VH1 with its fifth season on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
